Life is an ongoing series of experiences, each of which present choices and opportunities to learn and grow. Looking back over the course of my life, all of my experiences and choices have led me to where I am today.
I had prided myself because I worked out consistently and I looked good on the outside. I thought I thought I was on the right track. My body type is on the thin side, I never read labels since calories were not my concern. But just because I looked good outwardly, did not mean that I was feeling good inwardly. When I ate too much, which was most of the time, I would have nasty mood swings and it became a part of me. And since I was so out of tune with myself and my body, I actually believed that the meanness was part of my personality.
Throughout all of my life, I have experienced headaches, insomnia, menstrual cycles that were heavy and painful which lasted up to two weeks, and I was only having two bowel movements a week. I was tired of feeling miserable and became desperate to make changes. I began taking prescription drugs, but I had bad reactions to the drugs. I knew there had to be a better way.
In 1988, a co-worker introduced me to Dr. Richard Schulze. Out of curiosity, I took some of his classes; little did I know that one day this would become my passion and I would continue to research and study his work.
In 1996, I was introduced to colon cleansing, and began to feel better. I realized there was a connection between how I felt by what went into and what came out (or didn’t come out) of my body. I began to understand that reading labels was more than just paying attention to the calories; it was also about being mindful of the toxins and contaminants I was consuming. This was the beginning of my active path to acquire knowledge for a healthier lifestyle. I was curious and excited because I was starting to feel great!
In 1999, an opportunity came up, and I decided to leave the corporate world in order to pursue something that had become a passion. I decided to pursue a path towards knowledge and understanding of herbs and holistic healing. Along with my learning, I wanted to help others learn how they, too, could take control of their lives and health naturally.
I remembered the classes that I took back in 1988 with Dr. Schulze, and I started studying his works more intensely. I also started studying works of different herbalist like Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. John Christopher, and Master Herbalist, Steven Horne. I had the privilege of being an Apprentice of Tim Morrow (Master Herbalist/Iridologist) for over 15 years.
I have gained so much knowledge and experience through my research and studies over the years. I have learned to help myself, by changing my eating habits, exercising, positive thinking, and taking herbs. I finally feel that I am in control of my body. I am in tune with myself and I am loving life. Life has its ups and downs, but when our body is balanced, we are able to deal with it so much better. I now have an average of three bowel movements a day and I feel great! Believe me, when your body starts cleansing properly your whole outlook changes. My senses are clearer and I am at peace with everything around me. I am content and realize that my mission in life is to help others to do the same.
